The company is looking for a Senior Cable Technician to join their team who will travel to job sites across the Sydney area. You will be provided with a phone and other relevant tools of the trade. The Senior Cable Technical Leading Hand is responsible for the delivery and installation of assigned projects and the mentorship of junior technicians. You will be reporting to the Site Foreman & Project Management Office.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate labour requirements and forward plan project needs.
- Identify tooling or equipment requirements and ensure these requirements are met.
- Manage downtime between tasks
- Delegate works to team members.
- Abide by safe work statements (SWMS) and environmental health and safety standards (EHS)
- To maintain quality and high work standards
- Hands on skills required to perform installation tasks and trouble shoot faults
- Ability to follow procedures and standards within the AV and construction industry
- An enthusiasm to mentor and coach other staff members
- To act as a role model for more junior technicians
- Ability to read and understand a wide range of technical documentation encountered in day to day operations
- Demonstrating an understanding of other trade design documents, providing mark ups /as built diagrams where required
- Identification of onsite hazards that may impact Project timeline or budget
- Projects include working with large companies like Telstra, Optus and concert setups (Acer Arena).
Experience required
Electronics Cert.3/higher or Equivalent to industry i.e. Trade Certificates: AVIXA AV Essentials,
2+ Years Experience, Current Drivers License. Experience working with optical fibers, cabling, data network and previous experience in audio visual solutions.
